Lots of Exciting things are happening at Accpac these days. The full suite of the 32 Bit Version 4.1 Core modules will be out by the end of this month. There are now 5 flavours of Accpac Accounting software available.

Accpac Plus – Dos product with over a million users and still very strong in the market. Lots of addons and support.

Discovery Series – newest addition to the family line for Windows. Full 32 bit integrated GL, AP and AR. There are some limitations but it is basically the same as the full-blown version.

Small Business Series – More functionality and features than the DS but still reasonably priced.

** There is a Multi Currency module available for both DS and SBS.

Corporate Series – Top of the line Windows that works in Pervasive.Sql or Microsoft SQL. Unlimited users and lots of features

Due to the architecture of Accpac Windows products, they are independent of the Operating system so they work on Linux, NT, Win 9X and so on.

Simply Accounting - Lower end offering with real time accounting for small to medium businesses that don’t need the full functionality of the larger products.

EBusiness – Accpac has and will be adding to the product line software for eBusiness on the Internet. If you are not familiar with Internet shopping, check out Chapters.ca. Accpac will be entering this market with a very competitive Software package. You will be able to get your business on the web and start selling your products directly off your home page.

Addons – As popularity grows with the Windows products so do the offerings from 3^rd Party Developers. There are already over a hundred Addons or Vertical Software packages available and that will continue to grow.

Customization – This is possible due to the fact that VBA is built into all of the Windows products and they are tightly integrated or can be with all of the Office products.

Reports – Chrystal Reports is the standard report writer for Accpac for Windows but there are now a number of easier choices to help get the reports you want and need to run your business more efficiently.

Upgrades – There is an upgrade path for most of the products so you can start smaller and grow your business into a larger software package when the time is right.

COMPUTERS

Hardware is becoming so mainstream and cost effective that it makes sense to either upgrade or buy new. Ram is cheap and Hard Drive space is so low it isn’t funny.
